This as Eastern Cape Human Settlements MEC, Nonceba Kontsiwe will handover a house to the family of seven in Ngavungavu Village in Libode on the 23rd of December, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plight of the family was brought to the department\u2019s attention in August following a visit by various stakeholders in their home. It was discovered that the entire family had been living in a single room mud structure. The department\u2019s intervention will see the family move from that structure to a 40M2 house with two bedrooms, a lounge and an open plan kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department continues to prioritize the destitute as promised in its 2021\/22 policy. These beneficiaries include the elderly, disabled, child headed homes and military veterans.
