\nEC PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT TO LAUNCH PUBLIC SERVICE MONTH & HOLD EXCO OUTREACH PROGRAMME IN CHRIS HANI DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY<\/p>\n
Eastern Cape Provincial Government will launch the first ever Provincial Public Service Month (PSM) Programme of the 6th Administration in Chris Hani District Municipality under the theme \u201cEntrenching a Culture of Good Governance, ICT and Innovation for Inclusive Service Delivery; Taking services to the People \u2013 \u2018We Belong, We Care, We Serve\u2019.\u201d The event will be held at Thobi Kula Indoor Sports Centre, in Mlungisi Location, ku-Komani on Thursday 05 September 2019.
\nThe PSM launch will also form part of the Executive Council Outreach (Exco Outreach) Programme which will be held over two days in that District Municipality i.e. From Thursday 5th to Friday 6th of September 2019. The Exco Outreach will see Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, Members of the Executive Council (MECs) and Mayors deployed across local municipalities to launch and monitor progress on projects, promote a two-way communication with communities of that area, and address service delivery challenges.
\nDuring the PSM Programme public servants will recommit to a quality, effective and efficient service delivery to the communities of Chris Hani District. Government Departments will demonstrate an integrated service delivery approach through Services-on-wheels responding to the needs of the communities. The departments will include Home Affairs with the processing of applications for Identity Documents (IDs), Marriage Certificates, Birth Certificates, Passports and<\/p>\n
Death Certificates. Health Department will provide Primary Health Care services. Department of Social Development, through SASSA, will deal with the application of social grants, South African Police Services (SAPS) will be issuing affidavits and the IEC will also form part of the Services-on-wheels. Institutions of higher learning will also provide learners with career guidance and relevant information to various career opportunities. It will also affords an opportunity to reflect on the institutionalisation of Batho Pele within the Public Service towards continuous service delivery improvement and transforming the hearts and minds of public servants into putting citizens at the centre of government planning and operations.<\/p>\n
