KSD HOUSING BENEFICIARIES INCLUDING MILITARY VETERANS TO RECEIVE TITLE DEEDS
Hundreds of low-cost housing beneficiaries, including military veterans in King Sabata Dilindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality will receive official documentation to their homes as Eastern Cape Human Settlements MEC, Siphokazi Lusithi, is expected to handover 345 title deeds to rightful beneficiaries on Thursday, 16 February 2023. The handover forms part of MEC Lusithi’s rollout plan to eradicate title deeds backlog in the province to ensure homeownership.
Issuing of title deeds is one of the Department’s priorities ensuring that beneficiaries can legally own their properties and restoration of human dignity. The Department together with the KSD local municipality have undertaken a verification process to ensure the rightful beneficiaries receive their title deeds.
There are 345 recipients, including 33 military veterans of title deeds in Maydene Farm who benefitted from the KSD 1317 housing project. The project provided integrated, sustainable human settlements for those beneficiaries who were in need of decent quality homes, including military veterans in KSD.
This financial year the Department has committed to register 8000 title deeds.
